High 5 Me

I went for a run today in our warm spring weather but didn’t have my iPod to distract me so I tried something else: encouraging other runners.

On my runs I usually meet a few joggers, walkers and all-out runners and today instead of awkwardly looking at my bouncing shoes laces I gave them an out-of-breath smile and offered a hand for a high five.

It felt great and put more bounce in my step to see their surprised smile. Definitely a favorite workout.

This is a super easy thing to do! Make quick eye contact, say “good job!”, offer a high five or a thumbs up!

We are all out there working hard to get fit and stay healthy and we should be out there encouraging each other!
